Landon Colvig
Hi, my name is Landon Colvig, and I have been involved in music since I was very young. I started taking piano lessons from my mom when I was only three years old. Later I started learning violin and bass guitar, my two main musical instruments. My dad has been a worship pastor ever since I was born, so I have always been exposed to live music, and sound. I currently play bass guitar every week at Central Christian Church, Kingman campus, where my dad is the worship pastor. Violin, however, is my most advance music instrument. I recently received an award from the Royal Conservatory of Music for achieving the highest level 8 violin score in Arizona during the 2015 testing season. I currently study violin under Mary Elizabeth Brown through Skype lessons.
Since I was born and raised in Kingman, Arizona, I did not hear any electronic music until I was 14 years old. I was browsing through Spotify, and I came across the track Under Control by Calvin Harris and Alesso. I was stunned when I first listened to it, as I had never heard synthesizers used like that. By browsing through the recommended after that track, I came across some of my current favorite artist such as; Hardwell, Martin Garrix, Alesso, Swedish House Mafia, Calvin Harris and David Guetta.
After that, I began researching how house music was made and I was surprised to find that it was made mostly inside of computers using software plugins. This is when I knew that I had to make this kind of music myself. I started producing in May, 2014 and I put my first track out on Soundcloud in August of the same year. Since then, I have been producing in almost every spare minute of my spare time. In order to improve my skill, I also watch a lot of tutorials.
I produce with the intent to reach people for Christ. This does not mean making exclusively Christian EDM. I intend to eventually have my tracks in mainstream EDM where listeners will be impacted by the peace and joy that I have inside me because of Jesus.
